Ripon Garden Club
The Ripon Garden Club was first created in 1954 with the goal of protecting native plants and insects, to encourage civic beauty, and further educate the community about the environment. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
The Mission of the Ripon Garden Club:
- to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening,
- to aid in the protection of native trees, plants, and birds,
- to improve and protect the quality of the environment through programs and action in the fields of conservation and education.
Our Garden Club is a group of interested, dynamic volunteers that are dedicated to giving back to the community through civic beautification, school enrichment, and student scholarships.
Monthly meetings begin with an opportunity to interact with other members and guests, followed by informative speakers covering a range of topics. Refreshments are served. A brief business meeting follows the speaker.
Our 27th Annual September Garden Stroll will be held on September 7, 2024. The Garden Stroll is our only major fund-raising event. This one-day event will feature six beautiful gardens in the Ripon area.

Evergreen Elegance

This pristine garden, nestled on Nancy Drive, is a masterpiece of the homeowner's design. The yard predominately features evergreen plants, ensuring year-round visual appeal. In the spring, the front porch is gracefully lined with white azaleas in full bloom, creating a picturesque scene. Adding a dynamic touch, the Japanese maple begins the season with vibrant red leaves, gradually transitioning to lush green as the summer heat sets in.
A charming centerpiece, "The Children of the Well", was acquired from the renowned A. Silvestri Company in San Francisco. It adds a timeless elegance to this already captivating landscape

This garden's featured trees include purple leaf plum, crepe myrtle, and kawakami pear. The bushes are loropetalum, giant agapanthus, xylosma, privet, and asparagus ferns.
The Ripon Garden Club has a wonderful tradition of recognizing outstanding yards and gardens within the Ripon community each season. With a keen eye for beauty and creativity, club members diligently seek out yards that stand out for their striking appearance, meticulous upkeep, and captivating design elements.
